Silencio III

Vengo de un sitio
húmedo y que pesa
un poco no mucho
sobre las manos.
Un sitio oscuro, infestado
de hongos y polillas
y olor a pescado.

Yo vengo de su hueco más callado
donde solo hay agua
tintineando.
Donde cubre un manto
de tierra ennegrecida
y son más felices
los gusanos.

Fue mi cuna la hojarasca
medio podrida
las nueces picadas.
El viento sibilándome
fuerte los nocturnos
y las nanas.

Vengo del sepulcro adormilado
de los helechos y babosas,
liquen que arropa las rocas
cuerdas y troncos varados.

Por favor, no hagas ruido.
No quiero irme
a ningún lado.

Estoy sentade contemplando
el mar.

Forever yours

I'm yours truly
to keep forever
inside your drawers.
Pick me up
in your hands, I can shrink
to whichever size you want.
You decide how much
of me can fill the wine glass.

That's your call, I am
yours entirely
to keep forever
left on the road outside.
I wouldn't mind, I am yours
to be drawn on paper,
to sit around your house.

Put me on the bedside table,
let me ward off the night.
Let me slip inside
your sea of sheets, dive around
your submerged land,
sharing in your dreams.
We can go together
to the costume party tonight.

I wish you'd try and offend me,
topple me off the shelf,
see me impact the ground.
Take a peek at what makes noise inside.
Try and reassemble me
glue a piece of myself
to the wrong side.

Fantasma IV

(en castellano)

El día que moriste, todavía
había restos de pescado cocido
en el fregadero, todavía
había pelos color hueso en las alfombras
pegaditos, y en mi jersei
todavía
la lluvia caía en mis ojos
aún cuando el viento se había
levantado.

La velita que te prendí
permaneció encendida
hasta después de que las luces
navideñas se quedaran
profundamente dormidas.
Tal que tú.

Y sin embargo, tu rabito
de mapache, ondeando
me saludaba
todavía.

(in english)

The day that you died there were still
boiled fish leftovers in the sink,
there were still
scattered bone hairs over the carpets and
over my sweater, a bit.
There was still
rain in my eyes after the wind
lifted.

The candle I lit
lasted until the Christmas lights
were long asleep.
As you were.

And yet your raccoon tail was
waving still to me.

Ruina

Aunque parezca que no
sigo siendo una ruina.
Cual si acabase de caerme
todavía el polvo se respira,
cual si nunca me hubiese
levantado, todavía
se me mira
fijamente desde el fondo
del armario.

A veces paseo por mis detritos,
¿por qué no habría?
Cuando el mundo es resplandeciente,
bajo el mediodía.
Mas pronto un nubarrón lo eclipsa
todo
fuera de mi vista.

Y si un día
de estos no encontrase
la salida? ...

Forever mine

Be mine
in the way
that is mine the wind
that wanders.
Dashing up and down the mountains,
blowing my words away like fall leaves
into the ocean.

Be mine like it's mine
the Moon
coming into my room
some nights to lay silent.
Spreading herself all over
my sheets and covers
as I'm wide awake watching.

Be mine forever
like my soul, divine.
Forever mine.

Like all my memories
from all my lives.
My treasure, cautiously hidden away
from my own sight.

Be mine
in the way
the entire world is mine
to walk.
With all its kingdoms, its cries and laughs
that will never know who I am.

Be mine, as a guest
in my house
to be served something warm.
As a flock of birds before its return
to South.

Be mine, like a hand
I held just once,
while it was teaching its unique shape
to mine.

Forever mine.
